It was suspected that they received money to cover up an accident/ GJKKO issues verdict for Roven Zeka and three others

The Special Court has declared the former director of the Traffic Police in Tirana, Roven Zeka, innocent, as the criminal offense of corruption was not proven. 

Meanwhile, the Court has sentenced former judicial police officer Edison Tabaku to 3 years in prison, which was reduced to 2 years from the summary trial and eventually converted to probation.

The former head of accident investigation in Tirana, Sokol Novaku, was also sentenced to 3 years in prison, reduced to 2 years due to a summary trial, a sentence which was converted into probation.

The sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison has also been converted into probation for the defendant Bledi Belba.

According to SPAK, Zeka and two former police officers are suspected of receiving money from a woman involved in an accident, in order not to refer the case to the prosecutor's office and not to launch an investigation into the incident. /CNA
