A few days from the opening of the Qukës-Qafë Plloçë road

Started in 2014, after almost 11 years, the wait is coming to an end and the southeast will have the Qukës-Qafë Plloçë road axis, which according to an observation made by CNA is expected to open in the coming days before the end of August.

After the new deadlines set by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure Belinda Balluku, it seems that the pace of work has been high. CNA has made an observation and we have often brought photos and materials from this road segment.

In fact, the works are progressing at a snail's pace due to the lack of a project, incomplete funds, etc., but now it seems that its opening day is very close.

Sources from the companies that are building this road axis emphasize that, in two lots, everything is ready, while in the third lot, the contracting company is carrying out a final excavation in an area where it was not previously foreseen.

The same sources emphasize that a large volume of work has been carried out due to landslides, difficult terrain, and the problem of the road's mismatched road levels from one lot to another.

But apparently everything is now coming to an end and it is hoped that around August 20-25, that is, within this month, the Qukës-Qafë Plloçë segment will be fully opened, an axis that will shorten the distance from the capital but also the time since we will have a new road with a higher speed and Korça will be very soon at the end of the segments of Corridor VIII, which will also bring the Southeast even closer./ CNA
