Poisonings of Security Academy students/Muçollari: Consequence of a

DP Presidency Member Grigels Muçollari has reacted regarding the poisoning of students at the Security Academy.

Muçollari emphasizes that this is not an isolated incident, but is a consequence of a governance model that has lost its priorities and is no longer focused on solving citizens' problems, but on maintaining power.

He underlines that food security is not a luxury, but an obligation. In the meantime, he has called on citizens to continue with the protests.

"This behind me is the Security Academy. An institution that, in its name, promises security. An institution that should prepare those who will guarantee the security of citizens. But precisely here the most basic security is missing: food security.

Within just two months, we have had two mass poisonings of students, who ended up in the hospital for medical help. After the first case, investigations and measures were promised. But the fact that the same event was repeated shows that either no measures were taken, or they were completely ineffective.

If a safe meal cannot be guaranteed for students at the Security Academy, what kind of safety can citizens expect in schools, hospitals, dormitories, or any other public institution? What trust can they have in a state that fails even in its most basic obligations?

This is not an isolated incident. It is the consequence of a governance model that has lost its priorities. A governance that is no longer focused on solving citizens' problems, but on maintaining power.

While students are poisoned and citizens are faced with degrading public services every day, the government's energy is spent attacking protesters, delegitimizing critical voices, and shielding itself from accountability.

That's why protests don't arise from anyone's propaganda. They arise from the accumulation of daily failures. From citizens who see that the state fails to guarantee even the most basic standards, but always finds the time and energy to deal with those who protest.

Today, this government is focused on preserving the seat of power, while leaving the seats of institutions empty. Institutions no longer function as guarantees for citizens, but as a facade. And the cost of this is paid by citizens every day.

Food security is not a luxury. It is an obligation. Just like the safety, health, and dignity of every citizen.

Albania needs a government that governs and holds itself accountable. Change is necessary, and the citizen reaction proves this.

"Therefore, the civic protest must continue and every citizen who believes in functional institutions and a state that protects people must join it. Change will come, dear citizens, because each of you is rejecting failure and seeking a better Albania," said Muçollari./ CNA
