Journalist Elton Qyno has made a complaint regarding the works being carried out at the Bënjës Baths in Përmet.

In a post, Qyno writes that for two months, the Bënja baths have almost completely dried up due to concrete.

The journalist writes that for this project in the Benja spas, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism spent 2 million euros and ultimately resulted in the destruction of one of the most picturesque areas of Përmet.

Qyno has called on the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office and SPAK to launch an investigation into this case.

The "Kuçedra" of concrete tenders dried up the water and one of the most picturesque, curative and magnificent springs that nature had bestowed on the Përmet area.

The Benja thermal baths, created through springs from beautiful nature, have been completely dead for two months, losing their place as a favorite attraction for any visitor to Përmet.

The "scumbag" of those who run the greed of tenders has almost completely dried up natural resources, turning concrete bathtubs into ponds where only toads and lizards swim.

It's painful to see a natural gem like the Benja Thermal Springs being reduced to this kind of religion by human hands.

Two million euros were thrown away by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to renovate the tourist area, and after a few months they created this stale image, destroying one of the most picturesque areas of Përmet and Leskovik.

 

They put in matrapika, concrete mixers, iron and clay, and even rollers, until they cut the water veins of the centuries-old natural spring, bringing it to this state that is in the photo.

An environmental catastrophe that only these people know how to revive. A natural beauty, destroyed in Albania, that is now only good for frog baths.

The Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office, or even those from SPAK, should urgently launch a criminal investigation to investigate the entire practice of this masquerade, from the pre-determined selection of the company that carried out the works, from the company that approved the works to the non-technical interventions that destroyed the pearl of beauty of Përmet, the Llixhat e Bënjës.

They drained the centuries-old natural spring of water. Will anyone be held institutionally and criminally responsible for this scandal?
