GJKKO will review the defamation lawsuit/ Këlliçi: We will present

The Tirana Court has declared incompetence in the trial of the case involving Belind Këlliçi, Jamarbër Malltezi and publisher Carlo Bollino, transferring it to the Special Court.

Lawyer Adriana Kalaja informed the media that the case was transferred to the Criminal Court after Belind Këlliçi's special status as a deputy.

"As announced in the previous session, according to the interim decision taken by the Tirana Court, it resulted that this case would be transferred to the Special Court for jurisdiction due to the special qualification of Mr. Belind Këlliçi. Despite the fact that the criminal offense alleged by the applicant occurred at a time when Mr. Këlliçi did not have the mandate of an MP, in the reasoning made today by the Tirana Court, reference was made to the fact that in any type of circumstance or criminal fact, only the Special Court has the jurisdiction to try MPs ," said Kalaja.

Këlliçi also spoke about the decision, saying that since the lawsuit was filed, Bollino has been avoiding hearings and confronting him.

According to him, at the hearing at the GJKKO, they will present new evidence and positions on how the property intended to be a school was taken from Bollino.

"I am sorry that we lost two years of time from the day the lawsuit was announced, but since Mr. Bollino has not been coming to court for months, I thought I would never see him again. But it is expected that he will appear at the reconciliation session at the Criminal Court of Kosovo, in which we will have the opportunity to hear his claims and I am glad that we will have the opportunity to present new evidence and positions that in unit no. 7 the land destined to be built a school was stolen and the children were left without a school to build a building called a television.
