Five teams in the Champions League, Italy "leaves a mark". Chances fall

The chances of Serie A securing a fifth place in the Champions League for the 2026/27 season have been significantly reduced.

After the first three rounds of European competitions, Italy has fallen to eighth place in the UEFA coefficient rankings, with just 6,857 points accumulated.

The poor performance of the Italian teams has directly influenced this decline, with a balance of three wins, one draw and three losses. Currently, England and Portugal are the federations that would benefit from the additional fifth place in the most important club competition.

Spain and Germany are expected to advance, while Italy must recover by more than a point to stay in the race. To do so, Italian clubs must significantly improve their results in all three European competitions.
