Contract expires, Barcelona decides on Robert Lewandowski

Barcelona are planning to extend Robert Lewandowski's contract, which expires at the end of the season, but only if the striker accepts a pay cut.

The Catalan club want to keep the Pole for at least another season. According to ESPN, coach Hansi Flick is satisfied with the player's performances and professionalism.

Lewandowski is one of Barcelona's highest-paid players and his salary is seen as a barrier to new signings. Reducing the cost of his contract would help the Catalans comply with La Liga's financial regulations.

Barcelona are looking to bring in a striker to compete with Ferran Torres. Julian Alvarez and Dusan Vlahovic are among the names being pursued.

Meanwhile, Lewandowski remains an important part of the team fighting for the championship title.
