Napoli captain to undergo surgery, details revealed

Giovanni Di Lorenzo will undergo surgery on his left foot to resolve a previous problem. The news was confirmed by Napoli via the club's official website.

The decision was made by mutual agreement between the club and the player, taking into account the recovery time from the knee injury.

Initially, a serious injury to the cruciate ligament was suspected, but examinations ruled out this hypothesis. The recovery time remains estimated at around a month and a half.

The foot surgery is not expected to significantly extend the period of absence. The Napoli captain is expected to return within the expected timeframe.

The situation is also being followed with interest by the Italian national team staff.
