Politician Dashamir Shehi shared a position on the state's relationship with Albanian citizens.
Invited to A2 CNN, Shehi said that citizens do not love the state because it has never come out in support of them.
"Our state has been a stepfather to Albanians, it has not been a father. Now, why don't Albanians love the state? To be honest, they don't love it. The Albanian state has never been a god to them. In the time of Turkey, they would either impose a fine, a tax, or hire soldiers; in the time of Enver Hoxha, they would put them in prison. Today, the state imposes fines on businesses, sends 40 inspectors to rob them. The one who is poor continues to be poor with that 200 thousand lekshi," said Shehi. /CNA
