Interpellation on support for farmers/Shehaj-Salla: We hope you only stole EU

The Chairman of the "Mundësia" Party, Agron Shehaj, and the Minister of Agriculture, Andis Salla, held an interpellation in today's session regarding funds for agriculture. Shehaj, focusing on the new agricultural support scheme, asked why applications have not yet started and who is the obstacle to this delay, the ministry or the corruption of the National Agricultural Fund for Agriculture.

Addressing the Minister of Agriculture, Shehaj said that he hopes that only IPARD funds were stolen and not those of the scheme.

During his speech, Shehaj also showed the session an audio recording of a farmer, where according to what was heard, the farmer apologized to the minister for one of the reactions made in meetings with the minister and Prime Minister Rama.

" In February of this year, you said that IPARD funds would be unblocked within the first 6 months of 2026.

Another issue for helping farmers was the oil scheme, which you closed and brought out another scheme. Regarding the implementation and distribution of these 52 million euros, the application has not yet started. We hope you have stolen only the EU money and not these. It depends on the ministry or on the fact that the AKSH has been taken over by a criminal gang. A farmer who dared to speak out at one of the meetings was forced to apologize , "said Shehaj.

Minister of Agriculture, Andis Salla, in response to Agron Shehaj, said that an interpellation cannot be held regarding IPARD funds as it is an issue under investigation. As for the new scheme to support farmers, Salla announced that applications will begin on May 25, a scheme built on the priorities of the sector.

The Minister said that payments will also be made for planted areas as well as additional support for livestock products sold.

" The development of interpellations on issues under investigation would violate the separation of powers. Regarding IPARD 3, the application package has been submitted. Regarding oil and state support for compensation of production costs, applications begin on May 25. This scheme is built on the priorities and needs of the sector.

Support is not decreasing, but increasing with a better priority. This year's scheme aims to get closer to the models implemented in the EU. The change is not related to a lack of attention, but to the way support is built. For the first time, payments for planted areas are also starting. Farmers will also benefit from additional support, of 10% of the invoice for livestock products sold by them , "said Salla.
