"Crime is intertwined with the state"/ Tomorri: Rama with his

Journalist Klodian Tomorri said today that the situation we find ourselves in shows that crime in Albania is intertwined with the state.

Invited to 'Syri Tv', Tomorri said that Prime Minister Edi Rama is now backed up against the wall by this situation.

Tomorri also shared criticism that based on the way he is acting towards foreign policy, Rama is following an opportunistic approach.

"Edi Rama follows an opportunistic approach to foreign policy. Opportunistic in function of his personal interest. Yes, I agree, but more than opportunistic, I see him as unfocused, without a compass. I mean, I remember Zelensky when he was holding his head in his chest and in the interview that we read, Zelensky came out.

If you remember, before, during the electoral campaign, he was a big pro-European because he didn't have access to America and he said our compass will be the European Union. Then these developments happened, the Peace Board was created and there he was given an opportunity which we saw how he took advantage of, to be in a room with President Trump and he used it, so he changed direction.

Now he is American and says that Europe is on the wrong path. Then he makes these jokes with the Chinese. So, it is simply a political line that does not, does not have the public interest at all, fundamentally, it simply follows the interests and, let's say, the personal benefits of Edi Rama in the political sphere.

Beyond those stale jokes that the prime minister makes, I think that the most important part of what he declares is the fact that in a way he claims that there is a very, very pronounced problem coming from Europe regarding the level of corruption and organized crime in Albania.

So I see it as an acceptance, which he then tries to pass off with these jokes of his, that look, we're not worse than you, you're the same way, let's have a glass of brandy and move on.

But the fact that he is forced to admit it shows what we have always suspected and said, namely that the European Union has serious concerns about the level of corruption and the entanglement of crime or the merging of crime with the state, which we have seen, both in public facts and in SPAK files.

"And now the prime minister has his shoulders against the wall to accept this and he has to accept it as a fact, but he is trying to get by with this style of relativism," Tomorri said./CNA
