Former Socialist MP Petro Koçi said today that the opposition's actions in recent weeks are not bringing any positive effect, as they are changing the perception of the protests.

In a television studio, Koçi criticized that the only thing the opposition has achieved in recent weeks is the attention of international media.

"This whole series of protests has a negative effect on the spirit of protest of citizens. They are taking away their spirit for any real protest in Albania. They perceive a protest as a failure. Reason to protest. The case of Rrjoll was the most typical, where the opposition did not exist. I am talking about the main opposition. Because they have not achieved anything so far. Tell me what success they have had. The media can definitely capture some images. They say peaceful protest; is it a peaceful Molotov? I don't think so. If the opposition has done this only to make some news in the foreign media. The only international attention is that the protest is violent. In all these years of SP government, we should say that we have a more honest opposition than the government, but no one says this. The very fact that Berisha is at the head of the government is the biggest card. So, on the other hand, we see that there are also internal problems. From an organizational point of view, there are entire areas where the DP does not appear; "There are internal developments and the DP is a party that cannot hold free and fair elections," Koçi emphasized. /CNA
