People's Advocate Race/ Shehu: The majority will take over all institutions

Democratic MP Tritan Shehu accused the majority today that with the debates for the candidate for Ombudsman, it is seeking to take over all institutions for itself, regardless of whether they belong to the executive branch.

In his speech in the Assembly, Shehu said that the socialists are using arrogance and arbitrariness to violate democracy.

"Mr. Speaker, here we are making political banalities and legal deformations. The concept of the Ombudsman is a legal concept, not a deformation. It is clearly left to come out at the will of the opposition and then be voted on in the session. This is the goal, which is related to the role of some institutions that do not belong to the executive, but that influence the executive and can also play an opposition role. This is the issue. Will we accept this? Do we stand by this or not? This has never happened in Albanian parliamentarism. If you want to deform it, there is nothing. You took some institutions and kidnapped them, violating agreements, removing the balance. But it will have no value. Because you will use it with arrogance and arbitrariness to violate democracy. For me, it weighs more in terms of democracy. Word games and elements are your job", - said Shehu. /CNA
