The Albanian opposition, led by the Democratic Party, as the largest party of this political direction, has long called for continuous protests in Tirana.
Through these protests, the opposition is demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the creation of a caretaker government leading to early elections. This is one of the main demands repeated by opposition supporters.
The demonstrations have also been fueled by allegations of corruption against government officials and several events that the opposition has considered scandals of the Socialists, who have been in power for over 12 years.

The protests took place in the area in front of the Prime Minister's Office building and then moved towards the Albanian Parliament. These protests were accompanied by the announced roadblocks and massive traffic closures in the center of the capital.
During the protests, there were moments of clashes with the police, where protesters used pyrotechnics, while the police responded with tear gas and water cannon to disperse them. The protests ended with several arrests and injuries.

Opposition messages
The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has called for new ways of protest, saying that the opposition will use different forms of reaction and that "nothing is excluded," although he emphasizes that the aim is for everything to be peaceful.
Other opposition representatives also declare that these protests are a movement to bring change and challenge what they describe as "state capture" and a lack of accountability.
International reactions and security measures
Foreign embassies in Tirana have repeatedly called on citizens to be cautious and have warned of the possibility of escalation of the situation and blockages during the protests.
Also, foreign media have continuously reported on the protests, highlighting various details of this development.

On the other hand, the police have deployed hundreds of officers on the ground to maintain order during these gatherings, appealing to citizens to avoid areas where mass activities take place./CNA
