Today, the EP Foreign Affairs Committee discussed the draft report on Albania's progress towards the EU.

The Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the European Parliament, David McAllister, in his speech said that Albania must continue to work to move forward.

McAllister stated that the EP encourages political dialogue in the country, calling for more spaces created by the majority and more cooperation from the opposition.

Further in his speech, he said that the European Parliament has seen progress and all political forces have shown interest.

"Article number 21, we will continue with the draft report on Albania. Albania has opened all chapters and is awaiting the report. Albania must continue to work to move forward towards the advancement process. Each country moves individually in this process. We must see a big change for citizens, we appreciate that all political forces have had an interest in the integration process. We encourage political dialogue, it is important that the majority also creates space for the opposition and that the opposition becomes more cooperative in the interest of the people and democracy. We have seen progress in Albania. We visited Albania just like a few days ago where we also highlighted the progress," he said.
