SPAK's corruption allegations/ Rama: Cases against senior officials emerge

Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that SPAK's accusations of corruption by senior officials are cases he called 'from the graves of the past', thus referring to the first and second mandates.

According to Rama, the idea that the more socialists govern, the more corruption increases is paradoxical, as according to him, logic shows otherwise.

"Returning to the paradox, I want to share some facts. When it is not true that the more corruption is fought, the more it exists. In the history of SPAK, there are only 10 accusations of corruption, 16 for abuse of office. These are the ministry's figures. There are also 15 cases of inequality in tenders. The important thing is that 85% of the cases belong to the first and second mandate. So, with simple logic, the longer we are in government, the more corruption is fought, the more cases emerge from the graves of the past. Four graves are still being searched. This is a fact. And the other, that Albania ranks first for the integrity of public procurement. It means that there is less corruption", - said Rama. /CNA
