Balla: 2025, historic for the diaspora, in 2026 we will intensify contacts

The Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Tulant Balla, has sent a video greeting to Albanians everywhere, from Skanderbeg Square in Tirana, just a few hours before the new year.

In his message, Balla wished Happy New Year 2026 to Albanians in Albania, in ethnic lands and especially to compatriots in the diaspora, emphasizing the historic role of the emigrant vote during 2025.

"A special congratulations goes to our brothers and sisters in the diaspora, also because during 2025 they had the opportunity for the first time in these 35 years of democracy to express by vote the direction they want Albania to take. The vote of compatriots in the diaspora in 2025 was undoubtedly a historic moment for Albania."

According to Balla, during 2026, contacts with the diaspora will be intensified, as well as commitments to preserving the language and national identity.

" We know how to read their vote very well and undoubtedly during 2026 we will continue to intensify our contacts with all Albanians living in the diaspora and ensure that every Albanian child born in the diaspora has the opportunity to learn the Albanian language."

Balla closed the message with this greeting:

" I want to wish Albanians in Italy, Greece, Germany, Great Britain, the United States of America, Canada, or anywhere else in the world a Happy New Year, with the deepest gratitude and brotherly embraces from the square of Albanians, Skanderbeg Square."/CNA
