The 2025 elections and the great "embarrassment" of politics
In these 34 years of transition, the Albanian political scene has been characterized by great confusion. But never like today.

5 months before the elections, everyone is against everyone, but the two major parties seem to be together, despite the media noise of the "obedient disobedience" of one.

The Socialist Party continues to dominate the political scene, despite scandals, sensational arrests, endless corruption investigations of some of its leading figures, and even as more major arrests are expected.

Despite the various and numerous manifestations of the dissatisfaction of society and some political forces, the parliamentary majority it has is solid and allows the government to approve any bill it wants.

The passing of several laws, such as the electoral law with neither closed nor open lists, but effectively closed, criminal amnesty, the overturning of all opposition amendments, the control of some institutions, which should have been independent, testify that the elections on May 11, 2025 will not cause any major shock.
The dynamics of the SP polls, despite the effective communication management it does, show that it does not have a horizon of self-reliance.

At the same time, an opposition pole within the party, which could claim the legacy now that some figures are leaving the scene as a result of justice and SPAK, does not seem to be forming.

This means that behind a veneer of "strong government" lies the shaky ground of a state of non-governance.
And it is not just about the result of some polls, but about real divisions within society and the difficulty of political and social narratives, despite the claim that things are going well.

This is not an electoral phenomenon. In the first place, it is social and has to do with the fact that Albanian society currently lacks coherence that gives perspective and, above all, convinces of a feasible alternative.
As a result, now that the demand for "stability" on which the SP has invested is weakening, there is nothing that can shape a dynamic that has the social basis as well as the ability of strategic processing to shape it.

On the other hand, we repeat ourselves when we say that the opposition is in its worst days and further from power than ever. Divided into many parties and with no prospect of unification, it seems impossible to defeat the current majority. Even if it joins, it has neither the numbers, nor the votes, nor the support. It is even very outdated in ideas and populist.

Partia Demokratike e Berishës, me të drejtë pretendon se është partia më e madhe e opozitës dhe kërkon që t’i bashkohen të gjithë kundër Ramës ka numrin më të madh të anëtarëve, nostalgjikëve dhe disa idealistëve.

Por PD ka një handikap në gjithë këtë histori. Pavarësisht se ka vulën dhe logon, nuk ka më atë mbështetje që kishte në 2021.

Me figura të konsumuara dhe të pashpresa për të sjellë fitoren si në moshë ashtu edhe në optimizmin politik. E vjetëruar në moshë dhe në ide, refraktare dhe pa kauza, me humbësit kronikë që hiqen si fitues dhe që kanë mbërthyer partinë kaq vite dhe e çojnë nga regresi në regres, duke larguar shumë anëtarë themelues të saj, elektoratin gri, armiqësore me çdo mendim ndryshe dhe e pazonja të shohë interesin madhor të shqiptarëve.

Por ajo ç’ka është më e rëndësishmja, PD ende nuk gëzon mbështetjen e faktorit ndërkombëtar dhe, pavarësisht disa lobimeve, është totalisht e izoluar. Në rast se përmenden si sukses tre rezolutat, njerëzit me pak mend e dinë që ato rezoluta janë nga më të zakonshmet brenda partive të një familjeje politike dhe nuk kanë peshën që pretendohet se kanë.

Pretendimet dhe ftesat e pasinqerta të bashkimit nën PD të forcave të tjera opozitare nuk garantojnë fitoren.

PL (LSI) nuk gëzon më mbështetje në popull. Me liderin të burgosur dhe nën akuza për korrupsion duket parti e shpërbërë, pavarësisht se disa funksionarë të ngelur në të bërtasin më shumë se çdo herë.
Pothuajse në të njëjtën gjendje është edhe PR, e cila asnjëherë nuk ka pasur peshë elektorale, por ka vegjetuar e i ka pirë gjakun PD duke marrë votat e saj. Me kryetarin e saj nën hetim për Gërdecin, duket se PD do të shërbejë edhe kësaj here si komerdare e dyfishtë shpëtimi. Vetë të hyjë në lista, ndërsa për PD që të tregojë se ka aleatë.
E njëjta gjë me PBDNJ e Dules, e cila është rrudhur e tkurrur sa më s’ka..

Gjithsesi ndoshta është ende shpejt për të folur për aleanca të tjera të PD me parti të vogla, pasi në kushtet që është çdo aleancë me këto parti ende nuk ofron garanci për “qeverisje.

Ndërkohë partitë e tjera të opozitës duket se e kanë përcaktuar rrugën që do të ndjekin.

Do të më pëlqente që të organizoheshin në një pol të tretë, i cili do të kishte synim rrëzimin e pushtetit, duke mbështetur Drejtësinë e Re dhe SPAK, listat e hapura dhe partneritetin real me ndërkombëtarët, por aktualisht kjo është utopike.

Utopike, sepse duhen marrëveshje si parazgjedhore, ashtu edhe paszgjedhore dhe do të jenë bashkime mekanike, pa bazë programore apo ideologjike e sociale.
Basha ende është në pritje, ndërkohë që prej apatisë mbështetësit i firojnë, pavarësisht ashpërsimit të gjuhës dhe të vërtetave që thotë.

Më të qartë duket se janë Djathtas 1912 dhe LZHK e Shehit, të cilat shpallën koalicion dhe ftuan edhe partitë e tjera t’u bashkohen.

Qorri, Lapaj, Shaban & Co. see themselves as potential prime ministers and seek the dominance of a third pole with the populist ideas or stature they promote.
Each of them will be the first. And, in this way, they contribute to the preservation of the establishment and power of the two old parties in Albania.

Then, as long as the current opposition does not require a union of social, political and intellectual forces, for which basically none of the existing political formations work and only prolongs the Albanian transition, then perhaps it would be better that, as is almost known May 11 result, compete separately; see what electoral weight and then join according to their weight?

But practically even this formula keeps the current power standing, the vote has no value, the new representatives, capable of inspiring society and reshaping the dynamics of the majority, leave and disappointment and depression will continue to be characteristic of Albanian society, which will continue to leave the country, the political crisis will deepen and Albania will be in the power of political dinosaurs!/ CNA
