Opposition protest on February 10/ Police announce measures: Restrictions today

Tirana Police have announced the measures, after representatives of the Democratic Party of Albania announced the holding of a rally the following day, at 5:00 PM, in front of the Prime Minister's Office.

In implementation of these measures, today and tomorrow, movement will be restricted on several road axes/segments, specifically:

-From 23:45 today, traffic will be blocked and no parking of vehicles will be allowed until the end of the rally, on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, from the place called "Ura e Dajtit" to "Ismail Qemali" street;

-From 3:00 PM until the end of the rally, there will be a traffic jam on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, from the intersection near the Ministry of Interior to "Mother Teresa" Square, as well as on "Ukraine e Lirë", "Papa John Paul II" and "Ismail Qemali" streets.

Depending on the development of the rally, there may be restrictions on vehicle traffic on other road axes. In case of blockage, to assist citizens who will be circulating on these axes, Tirana Police has taken measures to divert vehicle traffic to alternative routes.

Tirana Police appeals to citizens to avoid driving on road axes that will be blocked and to use alternative routes, so as not to impede the free movement of participants in the rally.

Tirana Police calls on citizens to distance themselves if they encounter illegal actions that violate public order and safety. /CNA
