DNA sheds light on the rape case of the 12-year-old girl in Pogradec.

Sources close to the investigation team say that DNA analysis matched the fetus's genetic material with that of the suspect, a 67-year-old man identified as Rrushan Selko, who is related to the minor's family. This result has significantly strengthened the evidence against him.

According to information, the minor testified in the presence of a psychologist, telling of the constant threats she was made to not make the incident public. Meanwhile, family members have been questioned several times, while investigators are working to document every detail of the case.

Authorities have emphasized that the case is being treated with maximum priority, both to fully clarify the incident and to guarantee medical and psychological support for the minor.

The serious incident was discovered in Pogradec and made public in the media on December 30.

The investigation began immediately after the minor's pregnancy was confirmed, which at the time was approximately 22 weeks./ CNA
