Hazardous waste/ 37-year-old wanted man arrested in Durrës

A 37-year-old man wanted in the framework of the "Eco-Toxic" operation has been arrested by the Durrës police.

Citizen Xh.G. has been placed in handcuffs. The Durrës Court had imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him, for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office".

"The operation codenamed "Eco-Toxic" continues, one of the wanted citizens is captured. Specialists of the Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes captured and detained Xh. G., 37 years old, resident of Durrës, who was wanted after the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës, with the decision dated 03.02.2026, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense "Abuse of office". Work continues to capture other wanted citizens" , the police statement said.

We recall that a week ago, the Durrës police executed 20 security measures determined by the Durrës Court for criminal offenses in the fields of smuggling, waste management, document forgery and laundering of the products of criminal activity.

Meanwhile, it is reported that work is underway to arrest 12 other wanted persons, as they were not found in their homes during the operation. /CNA
