Trump imposes 100% tariffs on all films produced outside the United States

The United States will impose a 100% tariff on all films made abroad.

The statement about this decision was made by US President Donald Trump in a post this Monday on 'Truth Social'.

"Our film production business has been stolen from the United States of America, by other countries, just like stealing 'candy from a baby.' California, with its weak and incompetent Governor, has been hit especially hard! Therefore, to solve this long and never-ending problem, I will be imposing a 100% tariff on every film made outside the United States," Trump announced.

Film and television production has in recent years shifted from Hollywood to countries that offer lucrative tax incentives, such as the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, which makes filming less expensive./ CNA
