At least nine people have been injured after a shooting near Indiana University in the United States.
The incident occurred on Sunday on Kirkwood Avenue, in an area where thousands of people were gathered after a large student event.
Police arrived at the scene and found several injured people a block away from the campus, while a total of nine people were transported to the hospital.
Witnesses said the incident began after a conflict between two women, and then gunfire was opened. The two women involved in the fight were not injured.
The injured are mainly young people, including a 17-year-old, an 18-year-old, a 21-year-old and a 22-year-old, who suffered bullet or shrapnel wounds.
A 20-year-old woman was reportedly directly hit by the gunfire and suffered more serious injuries. US authorities are investigating the circumstances and motives of the incident, which remain unclear. /CNA
