Alexei Navalny's funeral today/ Family members cannot find a car to transport the body

The funeral ceremony for Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny will be held today. Meanwhile, his team has announced that they continue to face difficulties in organizing the farewell ceremony.

Spokeswoman Kira Yarmysh said they had been unable to find a car to transport the body to the church.

"Unknown people are calling funeral agencies and threatening them if they agree to take Alexei's body," Yarmysh said.

The funeral will be held today on the outskirts of Moscow, two weeks after he died in an Arctic prison. Burial will then take place at the nearby Borisovskoye cemetery at 4:00 p.m.

The entire ceremony will also be streamed online on Navalny's YouTube channel.

Navalny died on February 16 in a Russian prison inside the Arctic Circle. He was imprisoned for three years on trumped-up charges. For his death, the family members have accused the Russian president, Vladimir Putin./ CNA
