Hitler's American grandson
Willy Hitler

On March 6, 1944, German-American Willy Hitler joined the US Navy in the war against his uncle.

His request to be mobilized was rejected several times.

However, Willy did not give up and wrote a letter to the President of the United States, Franklin D Roosevelt. Intervention from the White House, coupled with a credibility document from the FBI, paved the way for Hitler's nephew's participation in the war.

After the war, he changed his surname and led a normal life until he died in New York in 1987.

Other interesting facts

His father, Alois Hitler Jr, was Hitler's half-brother, but from another mother.

Aloisi married an Irish woman and from this marriage Willy Hitler was born, in Liverpool in 1911. He emigrated to the USA in 1939.

Hitler's American grandson

Alois married another woman and had a second son, Hertz Hitler. Unlike American Willy, this other nephew became a sworn Nazi and died a prisoner of war in the Soviet Union.

Extinction of the gene

Willy Hitler changed his name after the war to avoid problems. He married and had four sons. None of them had children.

A hypothesis is circulating that the four brothers may have made a pact with each other not to have children, suspecting that the genetic combination that produced a man like Hitler could be repeated. By not having children they extinguished the only genetic branch of the Nazi dictator's family.
