Biden and Trump win primaries/Haley only takes one state

16 states in the US held primary elections on Tuesday.

Republican and Democratic voters chose the person they wanted to lead their party in the presidential election.

At the center of the primaries are Democratic President Joe Biden and former Republican President Donald Trump. 

They dominated the race, edging out the former president's rival, Nikki Haley.

Biden and Trump won in California, Texas, Alabama, Colorado, Maine, Oklahoma, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Minnesota and Massachusetts. 

Nikki Haley won only Vermont, while Trump clearly dominated in states such as Virginia, Massachusetts and Maine, which have a large number of voters.

Trump among the Republicans has won a total of 12 states. With this race, the former president showed Nikki Haley that the door is closed for her.

This result could lead to an election showdown between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
