Ukraine: We attacked a Russian ship in Crimea

Ukrainian naval drones have struck the Russian patrol vessel, Sergey Kotov, in occupied Crimea, causing significant damage.

This is what a source from the Main Directorate of Military Intelligence of Ukraine told Radio Free Europe on March 5.

It was earlier reported on social media that the attack on the ship took place at night in the occupied city of Kerch.

A video posted on the social network "X", formerly known as "Twitter", claims to show the moment of impact, followed by a large explosion.

Russia has not yet commented on this Ukrainian claim.

After hearing the explosions in Kerch, a ship connecting this Ukrainian peninsula with Russia has been closed for traffic. However, on the morning of March 5, the bridge was opened again.

Attacks in occupied Crimea occur regularly, especially near the Kerch bridge, which connects this Ukrainian peninsula with Russia. Russia has blamed Ukraine for past attacks, but Kiev has confirmed involvement in only a few attacks./ REL
