Netanyahu: The war with Iran is not over, we must take back the enriched uranium

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that the war in Iran is not over because, according to him, Iran's enriched uranium reserves still need to be taken.

"The war has allowed many things to be achieved, but it is not over, because there is still nuclear material, enriched uranium, that we need to get from Iran ," Netanyahu said in an interview with CBS, adding that there are also enrichment facilities that need to be destroyed.

Asked how he plans to extract uranium from Iran, he said: "We'll go and get it."

"What President Trump told me is: 'I want to go and I think it's practically possible. That's not the problem. If we have a deal, let's go and get it, why not? That's the best solution,'" he added.

He added that a diplomatic agreement would be the best way to achieve this process. Asked what would happen if no deal was reached with Iran on its nuclear program, Netanyahu did not provide specific details.

"It is an extremely important mission," the Israeli prime minister said, without setting a timeline for future developments.

Netanyahu's statement comes at a time of high tensions in the Middle East, as diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire and negotiations over the Iranian nuclear program continue. /CNA
