Dick Marty, the prosecutor who created controversy with the report on Kosovo,

The former rapporteur at the Council of Europe, Dick Marty, passed away this Thursday.

Marty has passed away at the age of 78. The news was confirmed by his party, which also sent a message of condolence.

"It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of former State Councilor Dick Marty. He was a member of the small chamber from 1995 to 2011. The FDP expresses its deepest condolences to his relatives", says the message of his party.

Dick Marty has created controversy with the report he submitted in 2010 to the Council of Europe, against the Kosovo Liberation Army.

In his report, the prosecutor claimed that crimes were committed by KLA members during the war in Kosovo.

Dick Marty raised accusations that ex-KLA fighters are engaged in organ trafficking.

He has stated several times that he received threats and for this reason he was protected by the Swiss state. However, he also expressed reservations about the defense of the state./ CNA
