Fuel prices in Germany drop

Fuel prices in Germany have already fallen significantly from last week's peak. Since the start of the war with Iran, fuel prices have only followed one direction: growth. But now they are falling again. This is the conclusion of the ADAC.

After Wednesday's midday price increase, a liter of Super E10 cost, according to this data, an average of about 2.16 euros across the country.

That means it was 1.6 cents less than at the same time the day before. Oil cost 2.31 euros per liter, which was also 4.7 cents less than 24 hours ago.

Lowest national average price

Both before and after the single-day increase, allowed at 12:00, the national average price was lower than at the same time the day before. At least oil became cheaper in the national daily average price on Tuesday.

For the fuel price analysis, SWR comes to a similar conclusion. According to this, a liter of premium gasoline (type E5) costs an average of 2.14 euros in Germany. The average price of E10 is 2.08 euros per liter. In the case of diesel, it is 2.25 euros.

The analysis is based on the prices of all fuels recorded at around 1,500 German gas stations at 1:00 p.m.

Just a "first correction" in prices

Overall, fuel prices have fallen significantly since their peak around Easter, according to the ADAC. And the automobile club considers this drop to be just a "first correction in fuel prices, which had recently risen sharply."

Due to the uncertainties surrounding the conflict with Iran, this may only be a "slight relaxation in the fuel market, but we are far from an alarm situation," according to the ADAC's conclusion. /DW
