Ukrainian authorities have warned the citizens of Kiev that they will experience longer power outages, lasting more than four hours, due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.

The ongoing outages are hitting not only Kiev, but also central regions of Ukraine, including the city of Dnipro.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that around four million people were affected, but said that, "shells will not break us".

This month, Russia launched dozens of Iranian-made missiles and drones.

Russia stepped up its missile attacks on Ukrainian power stations and other civilian infrastructure in retaliation for the Oct. 9 bombing of the Kerch bridge, a key link with Russian-annexed Crimea.

President Vladimir Putin called that explosion a "terrorist act of Ukraine". The bridge is a symbol of his campaign to incorporate large parts of Ukraine into Russia./ CNA.al
