This morning, the Serbian police launched a major action against immigrants in the north of the country, after there was a conflict and gunfire between immigrants, where one person was killed and three others were injured.

The event took place in the area of ??Subotica, Sombor and Kikinda. A large number of officers of the Ministry of Interior are present on the ground.

In recent months, clashes between immigrants in the north of the country have become more frequent. Just four days ago, there were shots fired in the parking lot of a megamarket in Subotica. One person was injured in the collision.

The shooting happened near the city center. The police of Subotica have stated that there was a conflict between immigrants.

The injured person was sent to the Subotica General Hospital. The border area between Serbia and Hungary has recently been a frequent site of conflict between smuggling groups.

In two operations, the police in Subotica arrested two people who were smuggling immigrants.

Residents of the settlements around Subotica, which are located in the border area with Hungary, have previously reported to the police about shootings from nearby forests.

At the end of July (July 25), citizens reported to the police about shootings in the forest on the outskirts of Hajdukova. The police went to the scene and checked the area near the highway, where they found the dead body of an Afghan citizen, as well as an injured compatriot./ CNA
