How the autocrat's image was overturned in 40 days

French magazines, German television, Italian reports, Belgian, Spanish and American media have a common column these days: the inverted portrait of the Tirana autocrat and the display of the traits that he had tried to carefully and with great money to cure all these years.

Gone are the white sneakers, the exhibitions and the paintings, gone is the exotic side that Edi Rama sold throughout Europe, where he received support, a blind eye to what was happening in Tirana and, sometimes, even Kos-style kisses.
Today, when Europe talks about Tirana, it has in mind government corruption, links to crime and drugs and the just protest of citizens.

And this is the achievement of those thousands of young people who, for almost 40 days, filled the square and continue to stand firm, even though the state's repressive machinery is against them.

They managed, with creativity, with pen and paper, to attract the attention of the world's largest media. We recall here that Reuters broadcasted them live and even CNN. To appear on CNN, Edi Rama had to say the most disgusting things about President Trump, so he agreed to serve as the bad mouth of those who financed him.
This protest, at the same time that it overturned the portrait of the corrupt autocrat, brought out so beautifully the image of a European Albania, where people stand up for their rights, becoming a model and inspiration.

All this, with zero lek, but only with the energy and will of young men and women, of mothers with small children alongside parents in wheelchairs, of professionals, family members, retirees, high school graduates. There is no one in Albania who has not been represented in that square, with a raised voice, with the messages given, with the category of those present.
The most unrepresented, the loneliest, was the one with the office three floors above, who, of all the Albanians, was flanked by Taulant Balla and about 3 analysts in the studio.
