Former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras returns to the political arena, presents new party today

Former Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has returned to the political spotlight in his neighboring country, as he will present the new party he founded this Tuesday.

The party's name, platform and main party leaders are expected to be revealed during an event in Thissio, in central Athens.

In a social media post on Sunday, the former SYRIZA leader showed a soccer ball in blue and red and said these would be his party's colors, describing them as "the blue of our country and the red of wars."

Tsipras' new party comes at a time when the left and center-left in Greece are reorganizing.
