US "self-defensive" attacks/ Iran warns: We will retaliate

A day earlier, the US military carried out "self-defensive strikes" targeting Iranian missile launch sites and ships around the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps has reacted to this, warning that it will retaliate against any violation of the ceasefire.

"The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warns against any violation of the ceasefire by the aggressive US military and considers its right to reciprocal response as legitimate and secure ," the group said in a statement, according to international media.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also said its forces shot down an MQ-9 Reaper drone and opened fire on an F-35 fighter jet and another drone that had entered Iranian airspace.

US and Iranian forces have exchanged fire before during the ceasefire and it is unclear how the attacks will affect the ceasefire.  /CNA
