Davos Forum/ Trump: Only the US can protect Greenland

President Donald Trump spoke again about Greenland in his speech at the Davos forum.

Trump said that American presidents have sought to buy Greenland for nearly two centuries.

The president stated that there is no sign of Denmark on the island and that Denmark is spending less money than promised for Greenland.

Trump further stated that the US is the only country that can defend Greenland, which he described as an underdeveloped and defenseless country.

Trump said that what matters is Greenland's international strategic security.

" Only the United States can protect this giant land mass, this giant piece of ice, develop it and improve it. I am seeking immediate negotiations to purchase Greenland. A vast, almost uninhabited and undeveloped country that sits unprotected. There is no such thing as rare earth materials in Greenland. What matters is its strategic national security and international security," Trump said.
