From the most wanted criminals to tariffs/ What did Trump say during his long

US President Donald Trump, on the one-year anniversary of his return as president, held a press conference that lasted one hour and 40 minutes at the White House.

In his lengthy statement, Trump touched on everything from Minnesota's most wanted criminals to the "hundreds of billions" of dollars he says the U.S. has taken from tariffs.

The US president questioned whether NATO would come to the US's rescue. "I know we will come to the rescue (of NATO), but I question whether or not they will come to our rescue," he said.

Turning to Greenland, Trump said he thinks "things are going to go very well" and that he has a lot of meetings planned on the issue in the coming days in Davos. When asked how far he would go to acquire the territory, he replied "you'll find out for yourself."

Trump was asked if he had changed his stance on the Chagos Islands after his post on Truth Social, in which he called the plan to return the islands to Mauritius "an act of great stupidity." He said the UK should keep the Chagos Islands, as it is a "pretty important area of ??the globe."

Trump says he gets along well with French President Macron and UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, but added that they get tough when he's not around.

When asked if he would like his planned Peace Board to replace the United Nations, Trump replied that “it could be.” He said the United Nations “is not useful,” adding that it has potential, but he never considered going to them to resolve any wars.

Trump also said he had "lost a lot of respect for Norway" and that Oslo "controls the Nobel Peace Prize." Recall that an independent committee, not the Norwegian government, awards the prize.

Trump also touched on wars, saying he has resolved eight wars, but he didn't do it for the Nobel Prize. He added that he is trying to resolve Russia's war in Ukraine right now./CNA
