Prince William is now richer than his father, King Charles III, and is officially a billionaire. Annual accounts show the Prince of Wales has a net worth of around £1.2 billion.

During the 2025-2026 financial year, William earned a private income of £21.6 million, and since taking the title of Prince of Wales he has paid over £20 million in tax.

On the other hand, according to the Sunday Times Rich List, King Charles III's personal wealth is estimated at 640 million pounds, about 30 million more than a year ago.

As part of efforts for more transparency over the royal family's finances, both King Charles and Prince William have made their tax payments public.

William paid £7.76 million in income and capital gains tax in 2024-2025, compared to £8.34 million the year before.

The report also reveals that Prince William has decided to no longer personally benefit from the £1.5 million annual rent generated by the abandoned Dartmoor prison, a decision that has been welcomed due to the public debate surrounding the property.

Meanwhile, the Royal Palace confirmed that King Charles III and Queen Camilla will not be moving to Buckingham Palace, even though the 10-year, £370 million renovation is expected to be completed next year.

Their official London residence will remain Clarence House, while Buckingham Palace will continue to serve as the main center of the monarchy's official activities.  /CNA
