Two terrifying earthquakes hit the country/ Trump: US ready to help Venezuela

United States President Donald Trump said his country is ready to help Venezuela after two powerful earthquakes hit the country and caused extensive damage.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump said the earthquakes were "extremely powerful" and had caused a large number of casualties.

However, by the time of his statement, Venezuelan authorities had not yet published an official death toll.

"The United States is ready, determined, and able to help ," Trump wrote, adding that he has ordered all federal agencies to prepare to act swiftly in support of the Venezuelan people.

Earlier, US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau announced via the social network "X" that the United States is in contact with Venezuelan authorities and is mobilizing aid for areas affected by the disaster.

According to reports, the two powerful earthquakes caused significant damage to infrastructure, buildings and service networks, while rescue teams continue operations to find and assist those affected.

Venezuelan authorities are assessing the extent of the damage, while the international community has expressed its readiness to provide humanitarian and technical support. /CNA
