Trump administration launches 'TrumpRx' discount drug website today

The Trump administration will launch 'TrumpRx' today, a website that will help patients buy prescription drugs directly from manufacturers at a discounted price, at a time when health care and the cost of living are growing concerns for Americans.

The government-organized website is not expected to be a platform for purchasing medicines, but rather will be created as a facilitator.

The site's unveiling, scheduled for Thursday evening, was announced by White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt, who in a post on 'X' called it "a cutting-edge website for American consumers to buy low-cost prescription drugs."

The secretary said President Donald Trump will make the announcement along with the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Dr. Mehmet Oz, and Joe Gebbia, director of the Trump National Design Studio.

The president first announced TrumpRx in September while announcing the first of more than 15 deals he has made with pharmaceutical companies to lower drug prices in line with the lowest prices offered in other developed countries. /CNA
