Why aren't government journalists demanding Erion Veliaj's resignation?

Why aren't government journalists demanding Erion Veliaj's
Erion Veliaj

For nine months in Durrës prison, arrested by a court decision that has been upheld at all levels, Erion Veliaj, the mayor of Tirana, has been holding the capital hostage.

With a dismissal that the Constitutional Court found unfair, the government gave Erion Veliaj the space to go and seek to keep his position.

The Constitutional Court also said that since Erioni was not heard in the Municipal Council, the dismissal was unfair.

Who prevented Erion from going is already known. SPAK at that time, prosecutors told him that he could be in some form at the Municipal Council meeting, where he could address the SP councilors with a letter, through his lawyers or other forms. But Veliaj refused, demanding that he go physically.

Then the Constitutional Court called for him to appear in court. Veliaj appeared and won his stay in office. But he still faces 13 serious criminal charges and another case under investigation.

Until now, we have never seen a single government journalist call for his resignation.

We do not believe and hope that Mero Baze, the journalist of the Veliaj family, will, through his portal, demand his resignation.

But there are others, like Carlo Bollino, who says that whether or not the Constitutional Court overturns her, Deputy Prime Minister Balluku should resign.

Why didn't Carlo ask Erion Veliaj to resign?

Very well, with dignity, ask Mrs. Balluku to resign. Perhaps she could have asked her immediately, since she was informed of the charges.

Why isn't Erion Veliaj being asked to resign?

Standard, if they want it, they have it in the case of 'Mogherini', their friend, of the government, who was arrested two days ago, the next day she resigned from the rectorship, the position she held.

Erion Veliaj is the mayor of Tirana, he has been in office for nine months and he is not resigning. There should be elections in Tirana, there should be a mayor who runs the city.

Why aren't journalists demanding his resignation?

As we emphasized above, we do not hope that the journalist of the Veliaj family, Mero Baze, will ask for his resignation. Carlo, Lorenc Vangjeli, Sokol Balla, Skënder Minxhozi, and many, many others, after all, are dice in the face of these voices.

How is it possible that in no case, for nine months, have they said a single word about the mayor resigning? Because he is holding the capital hostage.

To resign, to face justice, if he won, to return triumphant, if he lost, to go and serve his sentence. It's that simple. But he cannot hold the city hostage because this shows who Erion Veliaj really is, in his formation.

Beyond that, a bunch of journalists who have been left without a modicum of dignity don't even have the courage to say, "You need to leave," so that the city can continue to develop, because the world hasn't turned upside down.

Whether Erion Veliaj is in office or not, there are still administrators, leaders, and capable managers to take Tirana under control.

But this shows us once again how confused those government journalists are who are so disgusting and so filthy that they have no shame for the two, three, four, five, seven, ten different standards they have in front of the public opinion, which in fact now reads them very simply and has understood that we are dealing with a bunch of charlatans who do not even have the courage to ask their paymaster, who is in Durrës prison, to resign.

Maybe they enjoy the money they continue to receive, even though Erion remains in prison./ CNA
