DP Presidency Member Grigels Muçollari has reacted to the US decision to suspend the visa issuance process for Albania.

In Muçollari's reaction on social media, he states that this decision is directly related to the way the country is governed. He emphasizes that mass emigration and depopulation are a direct consequence of misgovernment and corruption.

Grigels Muçollari's reaction:

The US visa restrictions for Albanian citizens are not a random act, nor is it a purely diplomatic problem. It is directly related to the way the country is governed. Widespread corruption, institutional capture, and the lack of rule of law have seriously damaged Albania's credibility in the eyes of international partners.

This reality produces a chain of consequences. Bad governance brings poverty, lack of perspective and social insecurity. In these conditions, the massive departure of citizens is not a choice, but a necessity. The depopulation of the country is the clearest reaction to a state that does not offer its citizens a future.

Mass emigration and depopulation are thus a direct consequence of the same cause: misgovernment and systemic corruption.

The bill will soon be given to the prime minister to pay because when the US lifts the visa, it is not essentially intended to punish Albania, but comes as a reflection of the failure of a governing model that is emptying the country of its people. /CNA
