DP MP Bardh Spahia has reacted to the US decision to suspend visas for several countries, including Albania.
According to Spahia, this decision falls on the Albanian citizens. The MP pointed the finger at the government for this decision taken by the US.
"Innocent citizens cannot be the "collateral damage" of a narco-government."
It is a blatant injustice and a national shame that today, honest Albanians are being treated as second-class citizens around the world because of the narco-government that currently runs Albania.
While government officials and their partners in crime move freely on diplomatic passports or through shady avenues, it is the ordinary citizen, the excellent student, the worker, and the doctor who faces closed doors and denied visas.
The world is not isolating us because we are Albanians. The world is closing its doors to us because the government that leads us has chosen crime over the law. But this bill should not be paid by us! It is unacceptable that our passport be stained by the deeds of a handful of people who have turned the state into a trafficking fiefdom.
"We are hostages of a government that has stolen not only our present within the country, but is now stealing our freedom to move abroad. International isolation is the price of their corruption, but we are the ones paying it," Spahia writes./ CNA
