Shehaj raises concerns about "Jet Bank"/ Suspicions of fictitious

Economic expert, Brisida Shehaj, has reacted regarding the "Jet Bank" issue, questioning the way the evaluation and licensing process was followed by the responsible institutions.

According to Shehaj, the Bank of Albania should have shown much greater care when analyzing the application, not limiting itself to the company and individuals involved, but also fully verifying the sources of liquidity.

"The law clearly stipulates that not only the company and the individual must be analyzed, but also information on liquidity. Shareholders must prove that they have the necessary liquidity," she said.

Shehaj also stressed that the companies involved in this process were recently registered, citing July 2025 for one of them and August for a company in Cyprus, raising doubts about their nature.

"It seems like these are companies created specifically for this process," she stated.

The expert further called for transparency on the figures involved in the project, mentioning Idan Avishai and Oliver Hemmer, as well as noting the need for verification of their financial resources and banking experience.

"We need to know what work Idan Avishai has done and what his income is. The law requires that the capital be fact-based and not borrowed," said Shehaj.

She also added that the Bank of Albania should have more thoroughly verified the banking experience of the individuals involved, as well as the way the parties in this project met and collaborated.

"The Bank of Albania should have been very careful. The law clearly states that they should analyze not only the company and the individual, but also obtain information about liquidity."

Shareholders must prove that they have liquidity. This company was registered in July 2025. Also the company in Cyprus in August.

There are companies created for this process.

We need to know what work this Idan Avishai did, what his income is, the law specifically states that he must have his own income and not borrowed money.

The Bank of Albania should have looked at this individual's banking experience.
