Today, the next hearing is taking place at the Special Court for the "Sterilization" case, for which former Minister of Health Ilir Beqaj is being tried.

According to reports, the Special Prosecution Office has requested the dismissal of 23 requests filed by Beqaj, which oppose the charges and investigative actions against him. It is reported that prosecutor Edvin Kondilli stated that the requests are unfounded in law.

Among other things, it is also reported that the prosecutor stated that in most cases Beqaj's claims were answered during the investigation phase, in the preliminary hearing, and in the court's decision that accepted the request to move the case to trial.

"The actions were approved by the preliminary judge with the decision to accept the request for trial," the prosecutor said.

Former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, is accused of abuse of office within the framework of a structured criminal group, and is being tried separately from the other defendants./CNA
