The Supreme Court rejects Belinda Balluku's appeal for suspension from office

The Supreme Court has decided to dismiss the appeal of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku against the measure of suspension from office.

With this decision, Balluk's suspension from duty will continue to remain in effect. 

Former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of Infrastructure, Balluku, appealed to the Supreme Court, requesting the repeal of the suspension from office.

This measure was imposed at the request of SPAK and was previously confirmed by the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, as well as by other levels of the Judiciary.

Balluku was indicted in October 2025 for violating equality in tenders, in connection with the Llogara Tunnel procedures.

In November 2025, Balluku was also taken under investigation for suspected violations in 7 lots of the Grand Ring Road. /CNA
