Protest against the government/ Klosi: It has been channeled into politics

The Secretary General of the Socialist Party, Blendi Klosi, spoke today regarding the protests that have been taking place for 46 days in front of the Prime Minister's Office.

Invited to Euronews Albania, Klosi said that the protest has been channeled to political demands and has moved away from the issue of investment in Zvërnec.

Klosi further added that the demand for the removal of Edi Rama and the Socialist Party from power represents only a portion of the citizens.

"It's very good that now the matter has been channeled into politics. So, at first there was a feeling that people were demonstrating or protesting about the investment in Zvërnec. Maybe the investment in Zvërnec served to have a kind of discussion a little broader than the political discussion.

Now they have come out as a group of citizens demanding the resignation of the government, and this is nothing new in a democracy. In every country in the world, in democratic countries, the first day you lose power, the next day there is a group that loses and demands to regain power.

"So, the request for Edi Rama not to be prime minister and the Socialist Party not to be in power is a request perhaps from a part of the citizens who did not vote for us," said Klosi. /CNA
