Protests in front of parliament/ Lamallari: Police behavior is exemplary

Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari, after the government meeting, spoke about the accusations against police officers for their behavior during the protests in front of parliament against protesters.

Lamallari said that, despite the provocations, stones, and mud thrown, state police officers have had exemplary behavior.

"Police officers have been harmed for ensuring security. We have had measures confirmed by the court, based on evidence there have also been media officers who have been intimidated by violent protesters and this is a public fact. I think that the behavior of the state police, with all the provocations, the stones thrown, the accusations, the mud thrown at every corner, the behavior has been exemplary, we have never seen such a measured behavior even though they have been faced with physical violence. The police are there to enforce the law", said Lamallari./ CNA
