The Head of the State Police, Skënder Hita, did not appear today at the Special Parliamentary Committee for the Implementation of Electoral Reform to report on the effectiveness of criminal measures in the electoral process, the challenges identified in practice, and the proposals for improving the legal and institutional framework in order to guarantee the integrity of the elections.

This has angered the opposition, which has stated that if Mr. Hita is not capable of facing the committee, he should resign.

As a result, the opposition has requested the postponement of the commission until Hita appears to report.

"The first question was to send us the report written by the State Police. They told me there is no report. It has not been made available. After the report is made available to us.

"Secondly, I repeat, the prosecutor general has come with all the other prosecutors. The head of the police should have come. If the head of the police is not capable of facing up to this, he should be removed, I propose that we not continue the session. The absence of the state police is clearly evidenced in international reports, let the other directors come and answer our questions," said Vokshi./ CNA
