Cleaning of collectors begins in Shkodër/Muça: We will free them

The blockage of four collectors in the city of Shkodra has caused problems in the city in recent years whenever there is intense rainfall. Currently, the cleaning process has begun in three of them.

The head of the irrigation sector at the Municipality, Muhamed Muça, announced that the intervention focused on opening and cleaning four collectors, from the Xhabija area to the end of the Dobraç neighborhood.

According to him, these collectors had never been cleaned before, which had created constant problems with the escape of white water, especially during rainfall.

"We cleaned the collector that captures Xhabija, today we are at the collector of the Western Ring Road. It is clearly seen that it is a cleaning that has been missing because there were 70-year-old trees in the collectors. By cleaning the upper part of the city, we will free the collectors from the blockage that occurs every time there is rain. There are 4 collectors scheduled to be cleaned. We are at the third collector, we also have a last one that belongs to the Dobraç area. For interventions in these collectors, there is a necessity for continuous cleaning. After the collectors, we will continue with the drainage part and in the administrative units", said Muhamed Muça, head of the irrigation sector.

The current intervention aims to finally resolve this situation, significantly improving the drainage system for a large part of the city.

At the same time, work has continued with the opening and cleaning of drainage channels in several administrative units of Shkodra, with the aim of improving irrigation infrastructure and supporting agriculture in these areas./ CNA
